The Wrecks Bring Their INSIDE: OUTSIDE Tour to Boston
By Sammy Jaqeuz | may 15, 2025
This past week, The Wrecks energized the crowd at Royale Boston with their vibrant INSIDE: OUTSIDE tour. The LA-Based pop rock band played a dynamic set of their most popular songs as passionate fans danced and screamed along with every single lyric for the entire 90-minute set.

The band played a variety of songs from their four studio albums. The stage design was expertly themed with grass, trees, leaves, hung laundry, and dynamic strobe lighting, which added to the hyper electric feel of their set.

The Wrecks, who have been together since 2015, are Nick Anderson (lead vocals), Nick “Schmizz” Schmidt (lead guitar), Aaron Kelley (bassist), and Billy Nally (drummer). Each member of the band has an outgoing stage presence and perform with an ease that adds to the fluidity and smoothness of the band’s stage presence.
Nick bantered with the crowd throughout the night, even taking the time to swap jokes with the audience.
“Knock Knock,” an enthusiastic fan shouted.
“Who’s there,” Nick replied.
“Turnip”
“Turnip who?”
“TURNIP THE VOLUME! I LOVE THIS SONG!”

The setlist was perfectly organized, jumping from hit to hit and album to album. The great thing about The Wrecks? All of their songs are upbeat and catchy. As a result, there was never a dull moment for the entire show, but rather it was one giant hyperactive party where the line between excited fan and excited performer was just a bit blurry. You could really feel that the band was just as excited to be in the room as the audience, smiling and jumping around without ever losing energy.
Other memorable moments from the show included:
- Nick giving a small music theory lesson to the crowd after the band stopped their song “Milwaukee’s Best” half way through and starting over because they missed a mid-song bar switch
- The audience absolutely losing it when Nick pronounced Boston to be his favorite show of the entire tour
- A sweet moment where an audience member was chosen to join the band onstage during their song, “Speed.”
- Nick walking through the crowd while performing the final song of the night, “Favorite Liar”
