The Fray Finds “How to Save a Life” Resonance in Orlando

American rock band, The Fray sold out the fourth stop of their How to Save a Life 20th Anniversary Tour to Orlando, FL on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at House of Blues Orlando.
The night opened with a heartfelt set from Gavn!, who set the tone with soulful performances of “Eventually” and “Open Arms.” Though this was the only stop of the tour where he performed, Gavn! commanded the stage with confidence and presence, as if this were his final night on the road – not his first.
Right at 7:50 p.m., the second opener, The Strike, took the stage with their high energy song “Overcome.” Their performance radiated with energy with the lead singer actively engaging the crowd and each band member visible enjoying the moment. The stage came alive as they all danced and moved with infectious energy. Towards the end of their set, they performed a cover of “Your Love,” which the audience immediately recognized. The crowd sang along enthusiastically, and the performance perfectly warmed up the crowd for the headlining act.
Once the openers finish their sets, the stage transformed for The Fray, even revealing the iconic lightbulb from their debut album artwork, a suble but powerful nod to the tour’s theme. Durng the set, lead singer, Joe King, reminded the crowd that this tour marks the 20th anniversary of their debut album “How To Save A Life” and they’d be playing the entire album start to finish.
They kicked things off with the album’s opening track, “She Is” a powerful performance that set the tone for the rest of the night. The band seamlessly played through the track list, including fan favorite “Over My Head (Cable Car) and “How to Save a Life.” It was clear these were songs the crowded was eagerly waiting for. As the voices in the audience grew louder than the band itself, the happiness displayed on the bands’ faces showed how much this moment meant for them.
At the end of their encore, The Fray brought out both Gavn! and The Strike to perform the final song of the night, a cover of “I Saw The Light” by Hank Williams. The entire night was full of nostalgia, powerful performances, and a celebration of 20 years between the band and their fans
